Choosing a Church for a Christening

If you don’t already go to a church, you may still want to get your child christened. It is a lovely and traditional ceremony that many families still choose to adhere to, even if they do not attend church on a regular basis. They believe a christening gives a child a good start in life and it gives the family and friends of the family the chance to meet the new child.

Choose a church that is local to you, so that if you do decide to attend in future, you will be able to do so as a family. If you have a few different option, go to some services to see if it is the kind of church you would like to welcome your child into.

Make an appointment to speak to the vicar. They will be able to tell you more about the ceremony.

Once the church is booked, you can begin to get organised. Begin with the christening gown as it may take a while to make.
